v = H0D (measuring my expanding universe)

The last half of 2009 was pretty rockin’. I expanded my client base and the kind of work that I’ve been doing too. I’ve added a couple new contact and had my first international showing in Prague. I’ve been gaining in popularity in the local art scene here in Pittsburgh which has been unexpected but really very cool since Pittsburgh has such an amazing art scene.
I hadn’t really thought about the way my business has been expanding until today when I received a Facebook message from someone asking if I’d be interested in expanding my business. In the message he made mention to the economy which has not made things easy but has not really interrupted my growth very much (at least not in a way that I could measure without access to an alternative reality). I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume that it’s not a scam until after I hear more but in the mean time it made me pause and think about the work that I’ve been doing more of lately – from logo and web designs to more artistically driven photo assignment and even the teaching and consulting that I’ve been doing.
As far as the consulting and teaching goes Kevin Ross (another local shooter) and I are planning a lighting and posing seminar for artist of all types. If you’d be interested in attending please feel free to contact me or check back here in the next few weeks for more information.
I’ve also done some social media consulting recently and I’m preparing for a social media seminar that I’ll be co-leading on Jan 27th.
Standing back and looking at it all it seems like my universe is expanding faster than I had realized – now that I’ve realized it maybe I can analyse how I’ve done so and adjust my business plan to reflect all the new directions I’m going in. I guess since everything that has been happening has been going on at the same time I’ve not really felt the acceleration but I guess we can chalk all that up to Hubble’s Law.
